Entering Negative Values

The only data point in the BizEquity platform that can be entered as a negative is Pre-Tax Income... everything else must be entered as a positive. When the data is entered, the system will treat it accordingly when running the algorithm. This means there is no need for deductions or expenses to be entered as negative.

For Example, Let's say that Joe Business Owner wrote too many checks and the business has a negative cash balance. Instead of trying to put that negative cash balance in "Cash" simply put that amount in the Current Liabilities section. This satisfies the need in the cash section but you were able to accommodate that liability, and thus keep the valuation accurate.
